New Winter Experience - Gin and Chocolate Tasting

We've unveiled a seriously delicious winter indulgence experience in the Barossa.

For a limited time, a new Gin and Chocolate tasting experience, will be the ultimate fireside pairing for winter, enticing people to visit the Barossa, slow down and savour the simple pleasures of gin and chocolate.

The Gin and Chocolate Tasting Experience, pairs four of our seriously delicious gins with handcrafted, small batch chocolates from regional artisan chocolatier, Peter M. Designed to warm the soul and delight the palate, it’s a sensory journey into bold flavour, local craftmanship and Barossa indulgence at its finest.

“Winter is the perfect time to slow down and enjoy life’s simple pleasures,” said SRD Head of Customer Experience, Bec Henderson, “in our case the simple pleasure is gin and chocolate.

Far from your average gin tasting, this curated experience is a deeper dive into SRD’s most iconic gins – including the world-famous Barossa Shiraz Gin – and offers visitors something beyond the popular tasting flights, seasonal cocktails and signature G&Ts.

“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel – wine and chocolate tastings are common and pretty popular,” explains Bec. “But after trying Peter’s chocolates, we knew it was an opportunity to create something special, and seriously delicious. The flavour profiles work beautifully with our gins.

“Our team spent hours (happily) taste testing the different combinations to find the perfect pairings, and we’ve landed on four that we know people are going to love. Pairing chocolate with our Barossa Shiraz Gin and Barrel Aged Shiraz Gin was a no-brainer, but we’re excited by the House Gin with Raspberry and Bergamot chocolate and the Barossa Semi Gin with Spanish Orange chocolate. Delicious!”

The $35 experience includes four gins (15ml), served with ice and mixers and paired with chocolates to complement the botanicals and flavour profiles of the gin.

From the zesty tang of citrus and berries to the decadent richness of shiraz, spice and rum-soaked raisins, the pairings have been designed to awaken the senses and offer a fresh new take on the Barossa in winter.

The Gin & Chocolate Tasting Experience is available for a limited time only across the winter months (June to August). Bookings are recommended.
